Reminiscent Waves
This picture was taken at the pier in Oceanside, CA. The compositional rule of this picture is symmetry. The picture is lined in order to have all components perfectly balanced on each side. I took this picture because the photo was so well balanced; however, the man threw off the symmetry within the picture. The state of him reminiscing while staring onto the beach emphasizes typical San Diego County lifestyle in which our city is known for our beautiful relaxing beaches. I used a Nikon D5300 camera with a 18- 140mm lens and used Adobe Photoshop to order to edit the picture. The original picture was a little too dark in which I used Photoshop to create a layer mask to brighten the picture. I then used several tools such as the clone stamp and healing brush in order to fix the white spots that appeared on the bench. I also used the paintbrush to color the layer mask –of the brightened picture- onto the original background picture. After editing the picture, I printed it on Epson Glossy Photo Paper on the Epson P800 digital printer.
