In order to create this collage, we took several pictures of one form of landscape in order to create one final image. I began with a background picture and working my way from the top corner to the bottom corner. I scaled each picture and placed it in order to fit the image as a whole.

I choose ELLE because it is a well-known magazine and maintains a good perception of beauty products. I love the way they edit their magazines and how they edit their backgrounds to make the models standout. I emulated ELLE's by using their logo and using a plain white background to make Sophie standout.
I then used several fonts with different text sizes in order to emulate the style of the magazine. I looked at an ELLE magazine in order to research what sort of texts they placed in order to draw in customers. I used several photoshop tools such as the paintbrush, layer masks, eraser tool, etc in order to make the picture seem like a magazine cover. A strobe light is used as a flash for your camera. This is a strong quick flash that provides light to the subject's face. The main goal of a modeling light is to give the photographer a sense of the lighting effect. They help the photographer emphasize where the light and shadow falls on the subject being photographed. A soft box works with the strobe light and provides a softer source of lighting. A reflector bounces and diffuses natural and artificial light. A gray card is used to confirm accurate color. it ensures that the lighting is accurate and isn't too over or underexposed. A radio signal transmitter sends a signal to the strobe light to initiate the flash. Reminiscent Waves
This picture was taken at the pier in Oceanside, CA. The compositional rule of this picture is symmetry. The picture is lined in order to have all components perfectly balanced on each side. I took this picture because the photo was so well balanced; however, the man threw off the symmetry within the picture. The state of him reminiscing while staring onto the beach emphasizes typical San Diego County lifestyle in which our city is known for our beautiful relaxing beaches. I used a Nikon D5300 camera with a 18- 140mm lens and used Adobe Photoshop to order to edit the picture. The original picture was a little too dark in which I used Photoshop to create a layer mask to brighten the picture. I then used several tools such as the clone stamp and healing brush in order to fix the white spots that appeared on the bench. I also used the paintbrush to color the layer mask –of the brightened picture- onto the original background picture. After editing the picture, I printed it on Epson Glossy Photo Paper on the Epson P800 digital printer. |
