Balance This is a picture of Jordan, Chris, and Bly on the podium in the quad. This photo is successful because Chris is in the middle, while Bly and Jordan are on the outside. The positions they are standing in are symmetrical and represent the principle of balance due to this. Proportion This is a picture of Irma standing next to a tree by the 200's. This represents the principle of proportion because one can see the relative size of the tree compared to Irma's height. I believe this photo is successful because I took this photo in a low floor angle in order to really capture the height of the tree. Rhythm This is a photo of Irma jumping. This photo represents the principle of rhythm because we can see the movement of the action she is carrying out. This photo was successful because I put a slow shutter speed in order to capture the movement. Emphasis This is a picture of my ring and I placed it in the dirt. This picture represents the principle of emphasis because it emphasizes and brings the viewers attention to the ring. The background contrasts the color and visual texture of the ring; therefore, emphasizing the ring. Harmony This is a picture I took of a tree, but I stood right under it and fced the camera upward. This picture represents the principle of harmony because all the different elements within the picture are working together to become a whole -"in harmony". This picture is successful due to the angle I took it in because it allows all the tree branches to incorporate and intertwine with each other. Variety This is a picture of a kid wearing a hoodie with a volleyball placed in his hood. This picture represents the principle of variety because I changed a specific normality in order to add individualism. This photo is successful because of the creativity I put into it. Unity
This is a photo I took of a group of friends in a PE class. Everything within the picture seems to work together and fit in order to give a sense of unity. This photo is successful because of the angle I took it and the way I balanced out the group.

Respecting yourself is a very important topic in which has a huge impact on one’s life; yet, it’s rarely ever taught or discussed. The concept of respecting yourself can be interpreted in many different ways. I believe “Respecting Yourself” means respecting one’s own body and being true to one’s own values, beliefs, and perspectives. However, in order to respect yourself- one has to learn to respect others. This means that although you may have different beliefs or opinions about particular issues compared to someone else; however, we have to learn to respect and value the other person’s beliefs and perspectives. Therefore by knowing how to respect others, one may learn how to respect their own beliefs and perspectives because of the emotional and personal connection each person has with them. Respecting yourself doesn’t only mean respecting your own body and self worth, but respecting those around you.
In this picture, I tried to convey the definition in which applies to me. I posed my friend against a white wall to really make her stand out. I then wrote words on her arms match the definition of respect. I wrote ME on her forehead to really emphasize the importance of self Respect. This picture – to me- truly emphasizes the value of respect and the impact it can make on someone’s life, rather negative or positive. The light painting is taken in a dark room, on a tripod, and on manual mode-with the manual focus. For this project, I had my partner use the app myLightPainting in order to capture the bright lights. we used this app because we were having trouble capturing the dull light of the glow sticks- such as picture 3. I learned how easily the motion of light can be captured when the camera is set at the appropriate shutter speed.
